TFA, PFAS, secondary metabolites: detections are multiplying and putting at stake the qualification of your water, the operation of your boreholes and the trust of your consumers. Agritemis links the agricultural practices of your catchment area to the quality of the water abstracted, assesses upstream the risk of these molecules migrating, traces measurements back to the substances of origin and helps you take action: prevention, education and alternatives crop by crop. An aquifer takes years to respond: the decisions must be made now.

Anticipate before detection, explain a detection that has already occurred, and prove your efforts to the authorities as well as to your stakeholders.

Based on current but also past plant protection practices (molecules now banned, yet still persistent in soils and groundwater), we estimate the risk of finding these substances, their metabolites and PFAS in your water, and over what time horizons. Analyses are one-off and costly: our indicator-based approach locates the risk, identifies it, and allows you to target your sampling where it matters — instead of discovering a molecule without having seen it coming.

From your water analyses — including when only secondary metabolites or PFAS such as TFA are quantified — we identify the probable parent molecules, including those withdrawn from the market several years ago, as well as the crops, practices, areas and application periods that contribute most.

Our indicators rank the substances used across the catchment area by hazard and by risk of presence: you know where to start, with which farmers and on which plots. Alternatives are assessed crop by crop so as not to replace one problem with another. Tracking your scores over time documents your efforts to minimise the risk to water quality, which can be used in your CSRD reporting as well as in your dealings with regulators.
